Swimming lessons

Kia ora everyone,

Our swimming lessons started on Monday and it was lots of fun!  Swimming lessons this week will run on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday (not Wednesday because of our school trip).  Here are some photos of the day.  Please don't forget to bring your togs and towel on these days.

Swimming groups:

Group 1: Rasheed, Hamiora, Hauroa, Toni, Jamie-Lee, Rashantie

Group 2:  Faith, Atanda, Amanda, Fetuli, Ngaire, Mya, Chelsea, Estherbella

Group 3:  Kelis, Antuarne, Mercedez, Chris, Kelis, Roseena, Emanuel, Ben, Sapphire.

Chrome books

Kia ora whanau,

Thank you to those parents who have contacted our office about purchasing your child a chrome book.  This year Room 5 along with Room 2 and Room 9 are digital immersion classes.  This is a fantastic opportunity.

If you have any questions around the payment options please contact our school office on Ph (09) 298 9132 our aim is to make it accessible for you all so please don't leave it to the last minute we want to get underway as soon as we can.

First day back at school for 2016

Kia ora tamariki ma,

Hope you had a wonderful holiday.  Just an update about when we start back at school.  Our first day is Wednesday the 3rd of February 2016.  Look forward to seeing you all then and hearing about your holidays.  Have a look at the information slides on our class site to have a look at some of the things that will be a focus this term.  You can also have a look at what group you are in for Reading, Writing and Maths.  We will change the learning goals and planning when you have settled into school.

Our most recent Champion Leader award goes to Atanda Kiwara for always getting involved and helping others.  What a great end to the school year, Atanda.  Well done and keep up the good work!!

Our learning site!

We now have a learning site to support the learning in class. This site has been created as a resource to support Room five students with their learning tasks. It will also help parents and caregivers to gain a better understanding of what is happening at school so you can help to reinforce the learning at home.

Learning goals for term 4 set

Kia ora whanau, Room 5 have reset their learning goals for term 4. Some students have found they are working on similar goals others have changed their goals completely. Here is an example. For more information on what your child is working on at school there are learning goals on display in our class. An electronic version will be sent to your child's email which they can also share with you at home.
